Q. You added new scenes, how?
The videos already exist in the files, just not used. Approximately 25 minutes more footage has been added to the Steam version. Some is in the Epic version - I cannot check as it is blocked for me - but I suspect at least 12 minutes was not in the Epic version either as I have watched playthroughs and they are absent in the config. But if you played both, reach out with the differences. See this picture for new scenes (new to Steam). All are in the last chapter, some require high affection (~90% ) to access.
Q. Chapter 7 is on the timeline now?
Yes. previously chapter 7 was just two nodes, which doesn't show endings or branches. Now it will show it fully with 39 additional nodes. Most of these are actually in Chapter 8, and they just needed to be included in the same group.
The devs may have decided to hide the final branches to keep them a secret to foster discussion and sharing. Perhaps they had issues or ran out of time to properly connect it, but since they came back to add BTS content, that seems unlikely.
Or they might have hoped or prepared for Chapter 7 to be much longer than it was. The evidence for this is because Mengjiao is not in all of the pool scenes, perhaps she had scheduling issues? They might have been preparing for chapter 7 content and when it did not come they hooked up 8 straight into 7 and didn't go any further. Games often blow their budget and cutting content is not unusual.
They probably had a lot of trouble getting it approved on Steam and may have messed around with the config file to hide scenes. Then they lost track of what was what. The evidence for this is compelling because there a few ending logic problems. But if the Epic version hides the chapter 7 timeline then that's probably not the answer and the simplest is true - they just wanted to hide it.
Q. What about official English Support?
It has English subtitles already. Just nothing else and the interface is image heavy. Seems unlikely that it will get changes now 12 months after release. I suspect they fought hard to get it on Steam in the first place and never went further. If sales were better I think you would have seen multi-lingual support.
Q. What about an offline mode?
The game needs it but this mod doesn't support it yet. It is heavily online. It grabs the config file (story map) from the server. But it also gets keys for individual videos. And it clears these away every session. So you're asking for access to videos whenever you start playing again. It even has a kill switch where the remote server can literally tell the game to shut down. For what it's worth, I had no server problems. I may try to do offline mode for this game later.
Q. Is this game any good?
Pretty good. Better than I expected. It should be said that it is a little shallow. But the characters do mostly feel
like real people. Dialogue is good. It is funny. Biggest perk here is the 8k video with zoom. And also the fact
that it tries to be sexy frequently and often succeeds. I would say this is the most risqué dating sim on Steam right now with lots of good
close ups and more. It doesn't feel cheap and crude like the coser games or Ladies' Haven.
Q. Code Changes?
Yes, required to load a custom config and do some other translation things. The Korean user patch also modifies the DLL but they embed translations into the file whereas this loads it from a file. I have made a list of changes to the code in the zip file for more detailed information and you are welcome to check the code. It does make a server connection to "gamenc . mi7web . com:7788" to get config (bypassed), save data, video keys, send/receive video comments. This is the game server itself. If you are still worried then there is a no code option below that uses a backdoor debug mode. The downside (upside?) is that you can skip through all videos. Some bad and good endings might not work because the favor code and ending code is broken. Chapter 7 is not on the timeline either, so I don't really recommend this version at all but it's there if you want it.
Q. This mod doesn't work, can you help me?
If the game updates then the only thing that will always work are the subtitles.
The UI elements might work or might not. It depends on what updates they do and how they repackage it.
Q. This mod sucks, how do I go back to the original?
Verify the game files, which will replace them all with originals
Or uninstall / reinstall, if you have the bandwidth.
