‘The Fame Game’ listed on Steam

Another FMV dating sim has been added to Steam, and this one was made in America. The Fame Game has players assume the role of an ordinary man who gets cast as the main character in the game’s hottest TV show, Love for All Seasons.

Made by Interactive Films LLC, the game seems to follow a similar style to many Chinese FMV dating games, with branching paths as you rise from a no-name to an A-lister. The screenshot of the timeline shows off a rather complex web of choices, which bodes well, and the game promises hours of gameplay.

The game page mentions seven love interests, including your celebrity co-star, your best friend, and one of the screen writers. Based on the video, two others include the caterer and the make-up artist. The other two might be a producer and a new actress, but that is purely guesswork. Players become Jonathan Clifton and begin as an extra in the TV show. It seems like the game is aiming for a more lighthearted / funny approach than a serious one, with a few scenes showing off campy interactions.

  • You’ll need to charm your co-stars, memorize your lines (or don’t), and figure out who’s friend, foe, or flirting for the cameras.
  • Everyone on set has their own agenda. Pay attention to what they say… and what they don’t.
  • Choices matter. Every decision affects your reputation, your relationships, and your rise to stardom.
  • And yes, multiple people may fall in love with you. You’re not sure how that happened either.

The game looks like it has been filmed entirely in first-person view, like most of the Chinese dating sims. It will support English (audio and text) and will have Chinese subtitles. No release date was given but it will likely come out later this year.

The “Welcome to Hollywood” subtitle was added to the game’s name.
