The creators of Conquer the World have listed their next FMV project on Steam. Shao Song is due out in July and will feature some battle gameplay, where players control units, and a few prominent FMV stars. it is a game adapted from Liu Dan Pa Shui’s novel of the same name.

Here, there are a large number of fresh plots and various interactive experiences. Whether to strive for success to save the common people in the world, or to do your best but still leave regrets, it all depends on your single mind.
The game stars a few prominent FMV actors. The lead male actor, Xu Yue, was in Revenge on Gold Diggers, Others include, Wang Han (Knowledge or Know Lady), Xiang Jingyi (Director Simulator), and three actresses from Conquer the World. The trailer also features live audio, which is unlike what was seen in Conquer the World and My Talented Husband (another project by the studio). This audio may be replaced with ADR in the months ahead, although hopefully not. Fans of Conquer the World will also recognize the same music is being used.
Interestingly, fans on douyin have complained there are too many women in the story. Although these actresses have been in romance FMV, it is unlikely there will be much romance. The novel is primarily about about strategy and warfare. However it could be that there are tweaks being made to allow it to fit more into the conventional dating sim style, like Conquer the World.
The trailer also shows some more traditional strategy gameplay, where you command an army of units to attack another army. How much of this is in the game is uncertain, but it is unusual to see such action beside traditional FMV footage.
English is supported, and the game is due out early July.
