Master of Love is a competently made Korean FMV dating sim that has a slightly unusual narrative approach. It begins with the player-character struggling after a recent breakup. A mysterious older woman gives him a cake on his birthday, and blowing out the candles sends him back 10 years, allowing him to retry his relationship with five women across the decade.
The player has the opportunity to make better decisions and fix these old busted relationships. Truly succeeding provides a quick ending and throws you back to the main menu. Making worse decisions, however, will cut the relationship short and also throw you back to the main menu. So, annoyingly, the only way to progress through all five chapters is to foster the relationships (raise destiny/affection) but not too much so that they still end sadly and the next one comes along.

Each of the five chapters focuses almost entirely on one admirer with a few cameos from the others. This makes sense but results in a bland experience without rivalries, contrasting personalities, emotional dilemmas, or compelling choices. Also, the last two relationships are basically fully established when the chapter begins, with only a tiny bit of back-story via those brief cameos. It would have been nice to see a bit more build-up and more blending. You do unlock special chapters for each that are generally adequate conclusions, albeit with superficial choices.

Video quality is pretty good and the audio is all live recorded and clear. The actresses are fine and it all seems to be made fairly well. First run through will take 3 hours with a total of just over 5 hours to see everything via an okay number off branching paths. Masters of Love will likely be a positive experience for most but a few tweaks were needed to elevate it further.
