Q. What English content is supported (+Japanese + Vietnamese)?

  • Subtitles
  • Choices
  • Storyline
  • Achievement UI (New)
  • QTE Prompts (English Only)
  • Settings & Phone Menu
  • Character Archives
  • Main Menu
  • Conditions / Tasks (English only)

Q. What is not translated?

  • QTE Prompts (Japanese / Vietnamese)
  • Most Conditions (Japanese / Vietnamese)

Q. You added Japanese and Vietnamese?

Yes, both are supported, and can be selected in the Settings menu. I have no idea if they are good, since I cannot read either language. But it felt right to include them given they exist in the data table and menu. And I figure it is better than nothing. You are getting Gemini LLM subtitles with a few tiny modifications. Choices are a mix of the original translation + DeepL + Gemini LLM. Some ChatGPT was used in support. I have tried to keep the names consistent. I did try re-feeding stuff back the other way to ensure that there wasn’t nonsense. But they could still be bad.
You are welcome to improve the subtitles and share them with others (or me).

Q. Any Changes from the Chinese version?

  • Restores the Six-chapter version
  • Q button skips scenes
  • Language selection supported
  • Achievement UI for tracking achievements
  • Home on Phone quits the game (the og version did nothing chap1-6 except restart the video)
  • Achievement button on Phone (note, this loads main menu)
  • Fonts and colors changed (original is ugly and does not support Vietnamese / Japanese)

Q. Is the Epic version different?

Yes, but not by much. 335 out of 436 (76%) videos are byte identical. And most of the others have just been re-encoded with a lower bitrate (aka worse quality) on Steam, to roughly half original size—same length. This is probably to keep the game smaller. But my bootleg Epic copy is from Feb 2025 and the Epic files have since been updated to reduce size by ~4GB, so this might mean Epic has those same reductions. I cannot check as it is blocked in my country.

The main-menu video in the Epic version is the one where they’re in the swimming pool. On Steam it’s a generic trailer that begins with a house overview etc. There are structural differences with the config file setup, but you are basically getting the same game.

Q. What about censorship?

The two versions seem to have the same level of censorship. There are 2 (3?) videos with clouds over upskirts for Han Meimei (600311, 200407)—one is byte identical and the other is just worse quality. Steam has another censored video but it is unused. Other scenes that you would think might be censored (e.g. Liuli on top of Mei Mei) are unchanged.

Q. Can I play the 3 chapter version instead?

Sure, just delete the prince.dat file in “Fantasy!SummerCook\Fantasy!SummerCook\Fantasy!SummerCook_Data”. Note, if you play the six-chapter version first, you can be locked out of starting the game because your position is out of bounds. So if you get stuck here, you will have to delete the save file located in: %APPDATA%\..\LocalLow\Tenth\Fantasy!SummerCook\Steam

In my opinion the six chapter version is far better since it actually sets the whole thing up properly. The 3 chapter version drops you in a scene with somebody you don’t know, asking you to select guns for a mission you have no clue about.

Q. Is the game any good?

Better than expected. Can be very funny, especially later. Characters are good. Affection is cumulative. Endings are a bit short but the bad ones are more bittersweet than genuinely bad. Good length.

Q. What about official English Support?

Probably not coming. We’re at the 4 month point from Steam’s release and there is no word from the devs and no activity (or on Epic). This is about the time when you call it cooked. Interestingly the developers, Tenth Art, are behind Mr Right, which seems to be in development hell or Steam Review hell. Honestly I feel bad for them. If they are unable to release that title, it could be the end for them.

Summer Cook/Feast is another strange situation where the hard work is done but not finished. The base game only has 1 menu item with a languageid, adding the others would probably have taken them 10 minutes. Here is what is present in both versions (they are the same, except the Steam version hard forces Chinese, and Steam version has an English subtitle folder that is full of Chinese text).

English choice/game text was about 90% complete, some missing, some wrong. Good enough to enable.
Japanese text similar maybe bit less around 80%.
Vietnamese was more like 50%, with huge chunks wrong. Not ready.
