Stay Reserved, Beauty Review

Their first game, Flirty Landlord and Gorgeous Tenants was a coser game in disguise. It did not have enough structure. Stay Reserved, Beauty is an improvement, with more narrative, better characters, and hotter lewd scenes thanks to the underwear on display. And yes, there is a lot of simulated sex and fondling, which might be too awkward for some players.

The story is thin but provides enough framework and continuity. You play as Han Sen and your ex-girlfriend, Anna, is not happy that you dumped her for a newer model. Later, the sister of your new girlfriend comes to stay, and invites a sultry yoga instructor. And, after a mess up at work, your girlfriend’s boss and best friend visit too. One last thing: you are a womanizer who has no problem sleeping around.

Each of the six women come and go steadily, so the interactions and conflicts unfold naturally. Romance is minimal, with a few expressing a deeper bond. The acting is a little forced, but the crudeness makes it hard to take seriously anyway. In any case, there is more depth here than in Roommate Lover or The Heart of the Influencer, but it has a ways to go to compete with the average dating sim.

There is actually a lot of dialogue, heavy with sexual innuendos. The English translation is unfortunately mediocre. It is mostly understandable and frequently hilarious because it is so vulgar and sexual, but there is room for improvement.

You will see the women in their underwear a lot. This is a step up from the last game, which focused more on skimpy clothes. Most look awesome in minimal clothing, and the video quality is more than satisfactory to pull it off, so this is a perk not found in most dating sims.

Simulated sex features heavily too. There is at least one scene for each, but some get multiple. Since they usually wear underwear during the act, it appears like obscured porn. Some sessions are long and boring, but you can fast-forward at any time. With better camera angles and tricks (e.g. duplicate underwear being thrown) it might have worked even better. There are definitely hot moments though.

While the first playthrough is a lengthy 4+ hours, it is fairly linear; refusing the women often leads to an early failure ending. Other choices are mostly superficial.

Stay Reserved, Beauty is not for everybody. If you are uncomfortable with fake sex, groping, or find sleeping around morally questionable, turn back now. But if you think the coser games are too boring and Heroines Through My Lens was too tame then this game might hit the spot.
